Bio

The Robert E. Lee Ranch Co. headquarters is located at the base of the Snowy Mountains near Judith Gap, MT. Bob and Kathy Lee were married in 1967, moved to their mountain ranch in 1969.  The Lee Ranch operation is diversified; raising cattle, hay and wheat, plus good Kids and Grandkids. Bob, Kathy, and their three children have promoted agriculture through education and participation, plus social and economic sustainability.

The Lees feel wildlife is a vital part of their ranch’s legacy.  Lands and water are managed for the grassland value, both for livestock and wildlife.

Bob has served Montana as Chairman of: The Department of Livestock, Grazing Lands Conservation Initiative, and the Governors Rangeland Resource Executive Committee. Serving agriculture through leadership roles has been a way of life for Bob.  Montana State University presented Bob with the first and only Honorary Doctorate Degree in Animal and Ranch Science in 2015.

He has been active in the National promotion of Agriculture, through his participation in organizations as a board member, speaker, panel member, but most importantly he has been active in promoting good Family Agricultural Practices.  He is the past National Cattlemen’s Beef Association Property Rights & Environmental Enhancement Committee Chairman, conference speaker and program panel member.  His committee over saw subcommittees of Endangered Species, Property Rights, Natural Resources and Environmental Enhancement.  He is a current member of the Montana Grazing Land Conservation Imitative, National Grazing Lands Coalition Committees, and Montana’s Natural Resource Conservation Service Technical Committee. Bob and Kathy were presented the National Environmental Stewardship Award by the National Cattleman’s Beef Association in 1997 for their grazing lands practices.

Bob is a true agriculturist, tending the soil, the rangelands, and the environment with the utmost respect.
