Over the years, Charlie has completed many practices through the Soil and Water Conservation District.  Those practices include a water impoundment reservoir, four spring developments, protected 95 acres of forest from livestock by fencing off the woods, completed several pasture improvement projects; and implemented grazing systems on two different farms totaling 112 acres.  The most recent project they completed was an animal waste facility in January of 2016.  Currently he is in the process of constructing another animal waste facility on their other farm.

His conservation efforts have him on many state and area boards as well as his local school board and the county health board.  He takes his responsibility on each board very seriously and serves on them with great knowledge and dignity.

Charlie has also completed EQIP and CSP contracts with the Natural Resource Conservation Service (NRCS).

Due to his efforts in implementing conservation practices and encouraging other landowners to do the same, he received the Bollinger County SWCD Cooperator of the Year award in 2013.

Charlie has been and will continue to be an active conservationist.  He joined the NatGLC board in 2019.
