Ellen Harrell

Ellen grew up with an affinity for agriculture despite an urban upbringing in Baton Rouge, LA. Her weekends visiting her grandparents’ land outside of town began her dream of a future in the agricultural industry. Ellen studied Mass Communication at Louisiana State University where her major opened doors to work in many industries. She was the first student at LSU to earn a minor in Agricultural Communication. In May 2021, Ellen graduated from the University of Georgia with a Masters of Agricultural and Environmental Education with research on rural health and leadership development. Her professional expertise is in integrated digital marketing and strategic relationship building. 

Ellen loves talking about her time working at summer camp where she spent three summers guiding horseback rides in East Texas and Colorado. She loves camp for many reasons, one being that it is where she met her husband, Benn. Ellen lives in North Mississippi and spends her free time cooking food to share and working toward a family homestead.
