Bio

Tim, his wife Laurie and sons own and operate Munns Flying M Ranch in Hansel  Valley Utah near the town of Snowville which is about 120 miles northwest of Salt Lake City.  They bought their first piece of land in 1977 with borrowed money and have added to it as the opportunity came along.   The ranch now consists of 14,000 deeded acres of which 5500 is tillable and 120 acres are irrigated. They are also shareholders in a grazing association in South East Idaho.   Today they raise grass on pastured cropland, dryland wheat, safflower, alfalfa hay, kochia seed and barley.  Together with their sons they run 700 + mother cows.

The cattle are wintered in Utah (Box Elder County) and are summered in Caribou County Idaho on the grazing association. The majority is privately owned, with some public lands.

Tim has been active in many organizations the last 40 years.  He has served as President of the Utah Cattlemen’s Association, Chairman of the Utah Beef Council, Board of Director for the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association, Executive Committee for NCBA, Ag Policy Committee Chair NCBA.  Tim is also on the Board of Directors for the National Grazing Lands (NGL) also serves on the Governor’s Rural Partnership Board.  Tim served for 10 years on a county ASCS Committee and for 8 years as Chairman on the State FSA Committee. He has also served in various opportunities in his church and community.

Tim and Laurie have four children: Sara is a hair stylist and stay at home mom. Sonny is the ranch manager for Munns Flying M Ranch and King Creek Grazing Association and is building a herd of cattle of his own.  Bud is a Jet Fighter Pilot (A-10) Air National Guard; he works part time on the Flying M and recently purchased his first farm.   Bill is actively involved in beef sales and promotion and is a Program Manager for JBS in Greeley CO.
